Ed Sheeran vince il Grammy per la canzone dell’anno

“Ai Grammy Awards 2016 trionfa Ed Sheeran per la miglior canzone dell’anno, Thinking Out Loud. Una serata dedicata anche agli artisti scomparsi da poco tra cui David Bowie, Maurice White e Glenn Frey.”

Alla cinquantottesima edizione dei Grammy Awards Ed Sheeran si aggiudica il premio per la migliore canzone dell’anno. Il brano in questione è Thinking Out Loud scritto con Amy Wadge. Il cantante britannico finalmente ottiene un premio ai Grammy dopo diversi anni di nomination e lo aggiunge agli otto BRIT Awards.

Oltre ai premi, durante la serata sono stati omaggiati gli artisti scomparsi recentemente. Si apre con il tributo al recentemente scomparso Maurice White degli Earth Wind & Fire a cura di Stevie Wonder e dei Pentatonix. David Bowie viene omaggiato da una splendida Lady Gaga in un medley molto personale di Space Oddity, Changes, Ziggy Stardust, Suffragette, Rebel Rebel, Fashion, Fame, Let’s Dance, Heroes; Glenn Frey viene tributato dagli altri componenti degli Eagles con il grande classico Take it Easy, che commuove tutti.

Ed Sheeran ha raggiunto la fama con il suo album +, sei volte disco di platino nel Regno Unito. L’album successivo, X, ha ricevuto ancora più consensi rimanendo per oltre 13 settimane nelle classifiche inglesi.
