La notte dei Teen Choice Awards 2013 che si sono svolti al Gibson Amphitheatre di Los Angeles è stata dominata dagli One Direction. La band inglese ha sbaragliato la concorrenza aggiudicandosi ben quattro tavole da surf (il premio dato a tutti i vincitori): miglior tour estivo, miglior singolo di una band, miglior canzone d’amore e miglior band. Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik e Louis Tomlinson inoltre hanno scaldato il pubblico con la primissima esibizione in tv del singolo Best Song Ever, che sarà la colonna sonora di This Is Us, il nuovo film dedicato al gruppo. Harry durante il corso della serata si è aggiudicato anche due premi personali come miglior sorriso e miglior personaggio maschile hot.

Premiati con tre premi a testa Justin Bieber (grande assente all’evento), Selena Gomez e Miley Cyrus. Il primo ha vinto come miglior artista, migliore twitter personality e miglior singolo maschile conBeauty and a beat, mentre la seconda ha vinto come miglior star femminile dell’estate, miglior personaggio femminile hot e miglior canzone che parla della fine di una storia con Come and get it. Invece la terza ex reginetta Disney è stata premiata come miglior canzone con We can’t stop, miglior icona di stile e miglior attrice in tv per il ruolo da guest star nella serie Two and Half Men. Miglior artista femminile in assoluto invece è stata Demi Lovato.
